Native American, Ex-MMA Fighter and LGBT Candidate Elected To Congress

Voters from several backgrounds could identify with Sharice Davids when they had cast their votes by voting in a cool trifecta!

The 38-year-old won her seat in Kansas in a bunch of firsts for the state.

Davids is not only one of two Native American women elected to Congress for the first time, she's also the first openly LGBT member from Kansas.

And for good measure, she's a former UFCer, joining Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma as the only other MMA fighter in the legislative body.

Despite running in a "red" state, Davids won 53.3% of the vote with all precincts reporting in Kansas' 3rd Congressional District.
