Seeing overweight adults and children in America is nothing new. According to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than seven in 10 adults, aged 20 and older, will experience obesity in their lifetime.
But exactly where you'll find overweight Americans is now compiled onto an easy-to-read list, ranked state by state.
WalletHub just released their 2018 list of the 'Fattest States in America'. The site compared all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia, across 25 key metrics.
The list's top 10 fattest states in America ranked as follows:
1. Mississippi
2. West Virginia
3. Arkansas
4. Kentucky
5. Tennessee
6. Louisiana
7. Alabama
8. South Carolina
9. Oklahoma
10. Texas
But where does California rank? Don't worry vegans of the state, we're on the list's much slimmer side:
45. Montana
46. California
47. District of Columbia
48. Massachusetts
49. Hawaii
50. Utah
51. Colorado
California also ranked 48th in the 'Food & Fitness' ranking, as well as in the 'Lowest % of Obese Adults'.
