#TerrorInTheSkies: Poopy Pooch Problems

Airplane lavatories can be things of nightmares.

Not usually because they are visibly disgusting, but because they just feel gross, and they're so small, and it always feels like you're going to get sucked out of the plane when you flush the toilet.

They're just not fun.

Well, what if I told you that an airplane lavatory actually turned out to be a man's safe haven?

It's true.

Matthew Meehan was taking his seat on Delta Flight 1949 from Atlanta to Miami when he sat in it.

He sat in poop.

(Now, Delta ended up saying it was from a sick service puppy, but poop is poop, and it is NEVER supposed to be sat in.  No matter how cute the pooper is.)

Before Matthew sat down, he didn't give the seat much of an inspection, because who expects there to be POOP on it!

Not only was it on the seat, but it was on the floor around the seat, causing Matthew to get poop all over him.

"I was in the bathroom cleaning feces off of the back of my legs, off of my shoes. I was wearing loafers unfortunately, so the feces was all over my bare ankles.  They didn't give me gloves. I had to take my pants off because it's on the back of my pants, so feces, at this point, is transferring to my hands, with no kind of sanitizing solution to be able to clean anything with, and only one tiny bottle of gin."

Nope, nope, nope.

I'd be done right there.  I would be totally done with that plane right then and there.

And, according to Daily Mail, that's actually what the flight crew told him he could do.

"If they [gate crew] didn't clean, that's not our responsibility, someone from the gate needs to take care of that.  We are in the middle of an active boarding. We're busy. If you want, you can get off the plane and talk to somebody.  We are pushing this plane back, you can either sit in your seat or you can stay behind."

Now, I would have called their bluff.

But, apparently, Matthew really needed to get to Miami because he cleaned himself up, laid a blanket on the seat, grit his teeth, and made the two-hour flight down to South Beach.

Delta says they're going to make it right, offering Meehan a refund and extra compensation.  But, with lawyers calling, Matthew may be weighing his options.
