Southland Gas Prices Continue to Drop

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the eighth consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.842.

The average price has dropped 3.5 cents over the past eight days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 3.4 cents less than one week ago but 4.6 cents more than one month ago and 76.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 69.2 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the seventh consecutive day today, decreasing 1 cent to $3.785. It has dropped 3.8 cents over the past seven days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

Despite the recent decreases, the Orange County average price is 3.1 cents more than one month ago and 73.7 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 66.9 cents since the start of the year.
