With the migrant caravan headed closer and closer to the United States, President Trump said he is now considering an executive measure that would block the migrants from entering at the border. Even asylum seekers would be stopped from traveling into the U.S. by the order. President Trump said he hopes this will encourage the caravan to stop traveling north through Mexico.

If the White House passes the measure, they would then immediately issue new rules associated with denying the migrants asylum. According to Fox News, there is more than one proposal being considered at this time.

“The Administration is considering a wide range of administrative, legal and legislative options to address the Democrat-created crisis of mass illegal immigration. No decisions have been made at this time. Nor will we forecast to smugglers or caravans what precise strategies will or will not be deployed,” a White House official said.

According to the Trump administration, U.S. troops are now headed toward the southern border to better help the National Guard and Homeland Security with the migrants. There are already 2,100 troops from the National Guard at the southern border.

"Every time you see a caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic immigration laws!" Trump wrote in a tweet Monday. "Remember the midterms!"
