L.A. Zoo Launches Two Behind-the-Scenes Tours

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles Zoo announced today that it is launching two behind-the-scenes tours that will give visitors an inside look into animal care, conservation, and life at the zoo. The Wild Adventures Behind the Scenes tour will demonstrate how workers care for the 1,400 animals and 270 species who live on the ground. Guests will also learn about nutritional needs and food preparation, as well as what goes into designing a natural habitat. 

For the Wild Adventures Keys to the Zoo, guests will be given insight into conservation and animal care efforts through one of the zoo's animal care experts. The tour will include stories on conservation, breeding and care, zoo officials said. 

The Behind the Scenes tour will be offered on weekends at 9-10:30 a.m. and 1:30-3 p.m. The Keys to the Zoo tour will take place on the second Friday of each month from 9-11 a.m. and includes a continental breakfast at the Sea Life Cliffs viewing window from 9-9:30 a.m.Both tours cost $75 per person, plus the zoo's general admission price.
