Boy, 16, Repeat Runaway, Missing in Altadena

ALTADENA (CNS) - Authorities searched today for a diabetic 16-year-old boy from Altadena who is insulin-dependent and has a history of running away.

Xander Munoz was last seen about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at his group home in the 2900 block of El Nido Drive in Altadena, according to Deputy Armando Viera Jr. of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Munoz is Hispanic, 5 feet 8, 138 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, Viera said. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and gray sweatpants. He is known to hang out near or around Old Town Pasadena.

Munoz is diabetic. His family and caregivers are concerned for his well-being and asked for the public's help in locating him, Viera said.

Munoz has walked away from his group home three times in three months.
