A woman attending the Ryder Cup Golf Tournament on Friday lost sight in her right eye when Brooks Koepka's tee shot hit her in the face. They were on the par-four sixth hole when the woman says the golf ball hit her in the eye, fracturing her eye socking and causing her eyeball to explode.
The woman hit, Corine Remande, told reporters that she is now blind in her right eye and is planning on suing the organizers of the golf tournament.
A spokesperson with the Ryder Cup later released this statement:
"We have been in communication with the family involved, starting with the immediate on-course treatment and thereafter to provide support, helping with the logistics of repatriation, including providing a transfer for the family from Paris to Lyon. We will continue to offer support for as long as necessary."
