Around 11 o'clock this morning, police were called to a shopping center when a woman said a man came up from behind and tried to grab her 2-year-old daughter.
The mother and daughter were shopping near a Nordstrom Rack store at a shopping center in Valencia when she says the man approached them from behind. She immediately noticed him trying to take her daughter, so she grabbed her and the two were able to flee from the area and notify authorities.
The suspect, 60-year-old George Michael Starr, also fled the area, but was found by police about a mile away in his motor home. He was arrested for attempted kidnapping.
Starr is being held on $100,000 bail.
