Man Arrested For Manufacturing Illegal Weapon At Home

A man is under arrest in Fairfax, California for allegedly manufacturing an illegal weapon with a 3D printer.  Police and SWAT officers assisted the FBI in serving a federal search warrant at a home on Tamalpais Road near Sequoia Road around six o'clock this morning.

Michael Christian Gordon, 47, was charged with manufacturing and possessing an AR-15 rifle with a 10.5 inch barrel and no serial number. He will be prosecuted in federal court in San Francisco, officials said.

The incident began after a tipster called 911 to report a possible drunk driver on southbound 101 near Marin City. When the CHP pulled Gordon over, they discovered an illegal rifle inside, said CHP Officer Andrew Barclay. Police then notified federal authorities.

More than a dozen investigators from FBI executed a search warrant on Gordon's property on Tamalpais Road early Thursday morning.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.  He allegedly admitted to police that he had illegally manufactured the assault rifle.
