Evacuations have been ordered after 13 tanker cars derailed off their tracks in San Bernardino, forcing hazmat crews to make their way to the area.
The derailment was first reported this morning near the 7200 block of Cajon Boulevard with no injuries reported just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday San Bernardino police said. The tankers were reportedly carrying gas and alcohol and were heading south when the train cars derailed.
Several buildings in the area were evacuated and Cajon Boulevard was shut down in both directions out of an abundance of caution.
At least three of the containers may be leaking liquids, according to reports from the scene, but there is no safety threat authorities said.
