Congressman Chris Collins (R-NY) vowed to clear his name after he was charged with insider trading on Wednesday (August 8) morning. Speaking to the press in Buffalo, New York Collins called the charges levied against him "meritless" and said that he will "continue to work hard" for his constituents. He said that he plans to remain on the ballot in November.
He told the press he would no longer comment on the charges "outside of the courtroom."
Collins was charged with insider trading after he allegedly passed nonpublic information about a failed drug trial by an Australian biotech company to his son.
