Chainsaw Attacker on the Loose

Alejandro Alvarez, 32, is accused of attacking his wife with a running chainsaw in their home, leaving her with serious injuries. 

The attack happened on Wednesday afternoon inside the couple's home in Whittier while their three children were present. His wife suffered extensive injuries to her upper body but is currently in stable condition at a hospital and expected to survive. 

Whittier police are still looking for Alvarez who has not yet been caught. Although the chainsaw was recovered Alvarez was considered to be armed and dangerous. 

Police described Alvarez as Latino, with black hair, brown eyes, 5-foot-3 and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown Hurley T-shirt and dark jeans. He was believed to be driving a stolen, blue 2004 four-door Mercury Mountaineer SUV, with California license plate of 8ABD233.

Police say if you see Alvarez do not approach him, instead call 911. Duh.
