Sheriff's officials announced that a woman has been arrested in connection with the brutal beating of a 92-year-old man in Willowbrook.
An eyewitness says they saw a woman and several men beating the man on July 4 near 118th Street and Central Ave. The elderly man, who was later identified as Rodolfo Rodriguez, was walking down the sidewalk, passing a woman when the incident began. The witness said that for some reason, the woman became upset and pushed the older man.
"The woman pushed him and dropped him. She took the block of concrete and hit him in his head many times," the witness told ABC 7.
The eyewitness was able to get a photo of the woman who was with a little girl and carrying what appeared to be a piece of concrete. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department identified the woman in the photo as 30-year-old Laquisha Jones of Los Angeles, and arrested her on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday evening.
Jones is being held on $200,000 bail.
Video of the aftermath taken by the eyewitness showed the bloody and battered Rodriguez, who has since been released from the hospital and is currently recovering at home.
The motive for the attack is still unknown and detectives say they have not found the weapon used in the attack.
