LAFC Shifts Saturday Game Because of Heat

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Saturday's Los Angeles Football Club-Orlando City SC Major League Soccer game at Banc of California Stadium has been moved to 8 p.m. due to the excessive heat forecast for the region, LAFC and MLS announced today.

The temperature at Banc of California Stadium is forecast to be either 97 or 98 degrees at the original start time, 1:30 p.m., according to The Weather Co., an IBM-owned weather forecasting and information technology company. The temperature is forecast to be 83 at 8 p.m.

An excessive heat warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Los Angeles County coast, including downtown Los Angeles, from 10 a.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday due to extremely high temperatures caused by strong high pressure aloft.
