LAPD Needs Public's Help to Find Family of Abandoned Boy

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating the family of a boy abandoned at Union Station.

Video at the station shows a young woman was playing with him, but then grabbed her bags and left around 7:00pm on July 4th.

It is unclear if she is related to the child.

The department initially believed the boy was deaf, as he wasn't communicating but an ASL interpreter later determined he is hearing.

LAPD describes the child as being 5 to 7 years old and black with brown eyes and braided, dark-colored hair.

He's around 3 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 60 pounds and was found wearing a blue down jacket, white tank top, beige pants and grey tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on his guardians can contact 213-922-1410 or 877-527-3247. Anonymous tips can be submitted via 800-222-8477 or LACrimeStoppers.org.
