Farting Unicorn At Center Of Tesla Fight

It just breaks my heart.

It just breaks my heart that such a magical creature, like a unicorn, could be the point of contention.

Beyond that, Shannon isn't even here today to defend the rights of this unicorn!

Oh, the heartbreak...

So, Tom Edwards created the image back in 2010 and put it on coffee mugs with the words:

"Electric cars are good for the environment because electricity comes from magic."

Elon Musk, the CEO of electric-car maker Tesla, saw the mug some time later and sent out a tweet:

"Maybe my favorite mug ever."

So far, so good.

But here's where the issues start arising.

A month after Musk's original tweet, he tweeted a picture of the unicorn on the sketch pad of a Tesla car.

Then, the unicorn showed up as an app icon on Tesla console screens.

And then, it showed up a third time on last year's Tesla Christmas card.

Edwards told The Guardian that he wasn't too happy about it all.

"I love the fact that it’s in the cars, but I just want them to do the right thing and pay me adequately for it.  Elon Musk can be a hero for standing up for artists’ rights.”

And then Musk fired back again...

"We gained no financial benefit. Have asked my team to use a diff example going forward. He can sue for money if he wants, but that’s kinda lame. If anything, this attention increased his mug sales.”

Why?

Why can't we all just get along??

And why can't we just leave the sweet unicorn out of all of this madness???
