LAPD Sergeant Injured In Culver City Hit-And-Run

CULVER CITY (CNS) - A hit-and-run crash in Culver City this morning sent a Los Angeles Police Department sergeant to the hospital.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Bristol Parkway, according to Officer Christopher No of the LAPD Media Relations Section.

The sergeant is listed in serious condition with broken bones but no life-threatening injuries, No said.

She was sitting alone in her car at the intersection when a woman in another car pulled alongside her and tried to get the sergeant's attention, NBC4 reported. That's when the driver of a silver Cadillac Escalade rammed into the rear of both cars, according to the station.

The woman may have been trying to flee a domestic violence incident involving an ex-boyfriend that occurred earlier in Inglewood, NBC4 reported.

The sergeant was cut from the vehicle by firefighters and was rushed to the hospital.

It's unclear if the woman who pulled alongside the sergeant was hurt.

Culver City police are handling the investigation into the crash.
