LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 19th consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.685.
The average price has dropped 7.6 cents over the past 19 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak of decreases is the longest since a 27-day streak from Nov. 25-Dec. 21.
The average price is 4.1 cents less than one week ago and 7.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 72.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 53.5 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped today for 14th consecutive day and 20th time in the past 21 days, decreasing 1 cent to $3.637. It has dropped 8.9 cents over the past 21 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Friday.
The Orange County average price is 4.9 cents less than one week ago and 8.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 70.6 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 52.1 cents since the start of the year.
