The Chicago Cubs will be without their 33-year-old closer after he hurt his back while taking off his pants. The Cubs placed Brandon Morrow on the ten-day disabled list due to tightness in his lower back. Morrow told reporters that as he was undressing at his house after returning home from the Cubs' recent trip to St. Louis, he started having back spasms.

"Just undressing at my house. Like 3 a.m., in the closet, got my right leg off. Left one just felt like a spasm in my back."

Morrow, who recently signed a two-year deal worth $21 million, said that it is "frustrating any time you can’t get out there, especially when you can’t go for something as stupid as taking your pants off. Getting hurt any time is frustrating, but when it’s not related to throwing a baseball, it’s even more frustrating.”

Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer pointed out that Morrow had a similar issue during spring training and that he missed around ten days a result and believes that they are expecting a similar timetable for his return.
