Southland Gas Prices Drop Again

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 15th consecutive day, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.711.

The average price has dropped 5 cents over the past 15 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak of decreases is the longest since a 27- day streak from Nov. 25-Dec. 21.

The average price is 3.5 cents less than one week ago and 3.7 cents lower than one month ago but 72.1 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 56.1 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped today for 10th consecutive day and 16th time in 17 days, decreasing a half-cent to $3.675. It has dropped 5.1 cents over the past 17 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged June 9, then resumed dropping on June 10.

The Orange County average price is 2.8 cents less than one week ago and 3.9 cents lower than one month ago but 71.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 55.9 cents since the start of the year.
