Southland Gas Prices Drop Again

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the ninth consecutive day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.743.

The average price has dropped 1.8 cents over the past nine days, including two-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 1.5 cents less than one week ago but three-tenths of a cent more than one month ago and 72.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 59.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped today for the 10th time in 11 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.699. It has dropped 2.7 cents over the past 11 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Saturday, then resumed dropping on Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago and a half-cent lower than one month ago but 69.7 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 58.3 cents since the start of the year.
