Southland Gas Prices Drop Again

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the eighth consecutive day, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.746.

The average price has dropped 1.5 cents over the past eight days, including one-tenth of a cent on Monday and Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 1.4 cents less than one week ago but 1 cent higher than one month ago and 72 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 59.6 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped today for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.703. It has dropped 2.3 cents over the past 10 days, including one-tenth of a cent Monday.

The Orange County average price dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Saturday, then resumed dropping on Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago but four-tenths of a cent more than one month ago and 69.6 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 58.7 cents since the start of the year.
