1,500 People Evacuated in Aliso Viejo Fire, 250-Acres Burned So Far

A 250-acre, wind-driven brush fire in Aliso Woods Canyon between Soka University and the Laguna Beach's Top of the World community part has forced up to 1,500 residents there to evacuate. The fire, which was reported around 1:15 p.m. Saturday, is currently zero percent contained, authorities said. 

Laguna Vegetation Fire: This will be the Aliso Fire. Approx 25 acres and wind driven. Evacuations beginning in the Top of the World neighborhood in Laguna Beach. Multiple engines in place for structure defense. 130 firefighters onscene. No injuries reported.

Several fire engines are in place to defend several structures in the area with 275 firefighters on scene according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
