Dozens Hurt in Massive Crash on the Cajon Pass

Officials say dozens of people have been hurt after a massive crash on the Cajon Pass in San Bernardino County.

The crash involving at least 20 vehicles began just after 11 a.m. this morning on the southbound 15 Freeway. San Bernardino County Firefighters told the Press-Enterprise that at least 17 people have been hurt, but it's unclear whether anyone has been killed. At least 15 people have been treated for minor injuries while a number of other people have apparently refused treatment.

Conditions were poor, with drizzle and heavy fog appearing in the pass that links the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountains. Wreckage was reportedly strewn for two miles along the southbound 15.

The cause of the crash is still unknown. The freeway has been closed at Ranchero Road, causing traffic to back up for miles.

NBC 4 reports that ten fire engines and 14 ambulances have responded to the crash.
