LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles Dodgers will reduce the price of Dodger Dogs to $1 for tonight's game against the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium, the first time they've held $1 Dodger Dog Night since 2012.
Fans are limited to five Dodger Dogs per transaction.
Dodger Dogs usually cost $6.50.
The game is also Firefighter Appreciation Night. A special ticket package including a Dodgers Firefighter Appreciation Night challenge coin is available at Dodgers.com/Firefighter.
A portion of the proceeds of the ticket package will benefit the California Fire Foundation, a nonprofit organization which provides emergency support to departments and families of firefighters killed in the line of duty, scholarships to children of fallen firefighters, and immediate, short-term relief to victims of fire or other natural disaster throughout California.
Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Dave Gillotte will throw the ceremonial first pitch. He has served over 31 years as a firefighter, paramedic and engineer.
The national anthem will be sung by Dr. Staci Johnson, wife of Los Angeles Fire Dept. Capt. Kevin Johnson.
Former U.S. Army Capt. Margaret Stewart, now an LAFD firefighter, will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game.
Stewart graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1992, completed the Army's Rotary Wing Flight School as a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot and served in South Korea.
Stewart is a search and rescue canine handler with the department's only disaster human remains detection canine, Veya, who will accompany her to the game.\
