Prince Charles Will Walk Meghan Markle Down The Aisle

In the hours leading up to the Royal Wedding, Kensington Palace announced that Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle.

In a statement, the Palace said Ms. Markle asked her soon-to-be father-in-law to do the honors.

This is of course coming on the heels of the news that her father Thomas Markle would not be attending the wedding due to health restrictions.

There had been some light talk that Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, might be called upon to escort her daughter.

Adding fuel to that uber-speculative fire was the news that Doria had recently had tea with Prince Charles and his wife Camila, but that quickly went out once the official declaration was made.

The news first broke at 2 AM this morning when the official Kensington Palace Twitter account tweeted a semi official-looking document:

TMZ reports that Mr. Markle has since sent his blessings to Prince Charles on escorting Meghan down the aisle, and that: "he's 'honored and grateful' Charles will give his daughter away."
