81-Year-Old Child Molester Sentenced to Time Served

PASADENA (CNS) - An 81-year-old man who molested a 10-year-old family member in a parked car outside a Burbank supermarket -- and was reported to police by a passing 12-year-old -- was sentenced today to three years time served and ordered to register as a lifetime sex offender.

Guillermo Rincon Lugo was also ordered to stay away from the victim for 10 years, according to a court clerk, who said the defendant was expected to be released from county jail by the end of the day.

Lugo pleaded no contest last September to a felony count of committing a lewd act on a child. On Oct. 4, 2015, a 12-year-old Pacoima boy spotted Lugo molesting the girl in the back seat of a car, wrote down the license plate number and told his mother. The pair drove to the police station to report the crime, which led to Lugo's arrest the same day.

The boy who alerted police, Leo Anicua of Pacoima, was honored in April with a Courageous Citizen Award by Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey.
