Two Cuffed After Powder Thrown At LAPD Chief

Two women are in custody after powder was allegedly thrown at LAPD Chief Charlie Beck.  Lisa Hines says her sister didn't throw powder at Beck.

Sheila Hines-Brim is an aunt of Wakiesha Wilson, who died while in LAPD custody in 2016.  Hines-Brim allegedly threw or placed the ashes in front of Beck while shouting, "That's Wakiesha!"  Authorities say the meeting of the Los Angeles Police Commission was recessed yesterday morning while the powder was examined.

It was later determined to be ashes, although it's not clear if they are human remains.  The second woman detained was identified by an activist group as Melina Abdullah of the Los Angeles arm of Black Lives Matter.
