The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety was called to Lake Havasu in western Arizona after an SUV became submerged in the water over the weekend. Police said that two men made a bet over how far the vehicle could get while still driving.
They didn't get very far as the vehicle quickly filled with water leaving it disabled in the lake not far from the shore. When police arrived, water was covering about half of the SUV.
Authorities were able to tow the vehicle from the lake.
One of the passengers, identified as 28-year-old Reymundo Aispiro, was arrested because he had an active misdemeanor arrest warrant. Police did not announce if the men would face charges for driving into the lake.
