A 95-year-old Florida woman was arrested last week after slapping her 46-year-old granddaughter with a slipper. According to police, Hattie Reynolds got into a dispute with her granddaughter over her use of the air conditioner. Things escalated into a shouting match that ended in the slipper slap. Reynolds was arrested and spent the night in jail before being released the next day. So why was she arrested? Police say they had no choice once Reynolds admitted to striking her granddaughter. Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri said "Under the law domestic violence is a very serious offense and officers' hands are tied." Capri says they made Reynolds as comfortable as possible during her jail stay. Upon returning home, Reynolds said "my feet hurt and I need to sit".
My grandmother never did anything this wild!
