Man Mauled By Bear After Trying To Take Selfie

A man in India was mauled to death after he attempted to take a selfie with a bear in the eastern Indian state of Odisha Wednesday evening the Hindustan Times reports.

The victime, Prabhu Bhatara was apparently driving a group of people home from a wedding when he stopped in a forest area to relieve himself.

That's when Bhatara spotted the injured bear and against all logic, decided to approach the furry killing machine to try and take a selfie with it.

Since this was a wild animal and not say, Gentle Ben or Yogi Bear, the bear did what bears to, and attacked the man who approached him.

“Bhatara died on the spot,” forest ranger Dhanurjaya Mohapatra said.

Video of the incident was filmed by a bystander which showed the bear attacking the victim while witnesses can't do anything but scream.

It's the third such wild animal/selfie-related attack since December. A man was crushed to death by a wild elephant while he attempted to take a photo with the creature.
