LONG BEACH (CNS) - Human remains, possibly those of a 32-year-old man reported missing in October 2017, were found following an excavation today on the property of a home in Long Beach, detectives said.
In October 2017, police received a missing person's report for Zach Kennedy, according to Detective Scott Lasch of the Long Beach Police Department.
``Through relentless follow up in Kennedy's disappearance, detectives learned that he was last seen at a residence in the 500 block of West Eighth Street, and was possibly buried on the property,'' Lasch said.
Detectives began an excavation of the property Thursday and located what they believed to be the remains of a human body, he said.
A representative from the coroner's office took possession of the remains and will determine a cause of death as well as identification, he said.
Long Beach police detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the case to call them at (562) 570-7244.
