Hillary Clinton Still Complaining About Election Night

Because obviously we need ANOTHER rundown about the 2016 election, a new book from Amy Chozick about Hillary Clinton's campaign to be president was released this week and it's chock-full of all the self-centered, whining you'd expect from the losing democratic campaign.

Chozick covers it all, from the beginning when Clinton was reportedly furious that Vice President Joe Biden was considering running, to the campaign's efforts to elevate Trump and tie him to the Republican party (that worked out real well for them didn't it?).

Chozick leans on her time covering the campaign, calling her fellow reporters who were watching the debacle unfold her fellow "Travelers" and Clinton staffers as "The Guys."

Clinton's camp isn't exactly hyped up about the new book. When a former campaign staffer who is referred to as one of "The Guys" is asked by the Daily Beast what they thought of the book, the staffer downplays the revelations in the book. "The challenge on the campaign was that you had a reporter holding the Clintons to a higher standard through a lower standard of reporting. Amy was not always an honest broker, and this book seems to be more of the same. It ridicules people with a smile, contributing little to the public discourse.”

As the campaign continued, Clinton seemed to finally figure out that most of the country really doesn't like her, or her politics.

“‘Oh, what’s the point? They’re never going to like me,’ Hillary told this friend.”

Chozick even dives into how Clinton viewed Republican voters and why her infamous 'Deplorables" comment was far more than just campaign hype.

  • “Basket #1: The Republicans who hated her and would vote Republican no matter who the nominee.
  • Basket #2: Voters whose jobs and livelihoods had disappeared, or as Hillary said, ‘who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens in their lives and their futures.’
  • Basket #3: The Deplorables. This basket includes ‘the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic—you name it.’

The book is now available on Amazon, should you want to torture yourself about the 2016 election all over again.
