A former television producer has been arrested on a murder warrant in Baltimore for allegedly killing her sister in Studio City. Jill Blackstone was taken into custody yesterday and will be extradited to Los Angeles.
Blackstone has been charged for the 2015 slaying of her deaf and partially blind sister authorities said. She was arrested after her sister's body was found, but was released pending further investigation. Prosecutors filed a murder charge against the producer last month following a two-year long investigation by LAPD Valley homicide detectives.
Blackstone is accused of drugging her sister and placing her in a garage with their three dogs and setting a fire with a charcoal barbecue to make it look like an accident. Blackstone's sister was found in the garage atop some blankets with a suicide note in her hand. Officials say Blackstone wrote the note, and placed end-of-life instructions that included a "Do-Not-Resusitate" order.
Jill Blackstone once worked as a producer on several well-known shows, including a gig as a producer for Rosie O'Donnell, and Sally Jessy Raphael. The IMDB also lists her as a producer for an episode of "The Jerry Springer Show."
