ORANGE (CNS) - One person was taken to a hospital after a vehicle flew off of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway and onto a Motel 6 parking lot in Orange, authorities said today.
The crash was reported about 10:30 p.m. Sunday from the northbound Santa Ana Freeway at Chapman Avenue, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher in Santa Ana said.
The vehicle landed in the Motel 6 parking lot at 2920 West Chapman Ave., Orange Fire Department Dispatch Shift Supervisor Sam Ahumada said.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and was freed by firefighters, Ahumada said. The driver was then taken to a hospital for treatment. The crash occurred near UCI Medical Center in Orange.
