UCI Offering Free Eye Exams

UCI offers free eye exams to young kids who might need glasses

U.C. Irvine’s Eye Mobile is rolling through Orange County to help young kids who might not even realize their world is blurry.

Even the most nurturing of parents can miss eye problems, because their children don’t know how clear and crisp their vision could be. That’s why schools do screenings. For younger or underserved kids—or those who missed screening day at school—the Eye Mobile is offering free screenings this spring (see details below).

KFI Assignment Editor Trevor Gerdes had a chat with Program Director Iliana Molina about what visitors need to know about the Eye Mobile’s free services. Molina also explains the surprising prevalence of “lazy eye” and how fast the fix can be!
