UFC President Dana White said that the New York City Police Department has issued an arrest for Conor McGregor following an incident backstage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Wednesday night.
McGregor and his entourage attacked a bus of UFC fighters as they left a promotional event for UFC 223. Lightweight Michael Chiesa, who is scheduled to fight in the event on April 7th, suffered a laceration due to broken glass. He was "cut to pieces" and is currently in the hospital.
Multiple videos captured a chaotic scene as one person picked up and threw a metal guardrail toward the bus and McGregor was seen picking up a metal dolly and smashing it into the side of the bus.
Security was able to break up the fight and both groups left the arena without further incident.
Police told McGregor his plane cannot take off and leave the state and that he must turn himself in immediately.
