La Tuna Canyon Is Reopened Following Wednesday Landslide

SUN VALLEY (CNS) - La Tuna Canyon Road in Sun Valley was reopened in Sun Valley following a landslide due to last week's storm, authorities said today.

The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering made the announcement on social media about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. ``Thank you Angelenos for your patience!'' the bureau posted.

La Tuna Canyon Road was closed less than a mile from the Foothill (210) Freeway when a landslide occurred at about 4 p.m. measuring 75 feet in width and 45 feet in height on the south side of the road, officials said.

Crews from the Bureau of Engineering pumped water out of the landslide and determined the area was stable before allowing it to open, officials said.
