Austin Bomber Blew Himself Up as Cops Closed In

Authorities have identified 24-year-old Mark Anthony Conditt as the Austin Bomber. Conditt lived in suburban Pflugerville with two male roommates and was unemployed.

Police were able to track Conditt to a hotel in Round Rock near Austin by triangulating his cell phone amongst other tactics.

They were able to track his car until 3am when he pulled over and detonated a bomb he had inside his vehicle. A SWAT member was knocked down in the blast but only suffered minor injuries.

“The suspect is deceased and has significant injuries from a blast that occurred from detonating a bomb inside his vehicle,” said Austin Police Chief Brian Manley.

A major key in identifying Conditt was the type of batteries he used for his homemade bombs. His choice in battery was the one signature present in all his explosives, sources say these exotic batteries came from Asia.
