Ten people are injured after things went wrong at a ski resort in Georgia. The country, not the state.

Officials say a ski lift malfunctioned and began running backwards at a high speed.

Video from the accident shows skiers flying through the air, as multiple seats crush and pile into each other at the foot of the lift.

Georgia’s state-owned Mountain Resorts Development Company officials say they are investigating the failure:

"According to initial information, Sadzele ski lift in Gudauri stopped working, chairs crashed into each other with riders suspended in the air, causing health injury of medium gravity. As a result, according to preliminary data, 10 people were injured."
