A proposal to put in trailers to shelter Skid Row's homeless is moving forward. The Los Angeles City Council gave the idea unanimous approval today and called for installing enough trailers to "meet the need."
This would broaden a similar plan that's already underway near the downtown El Pueblo Historical Monument. The city is working on getting five trailers there that would house 60 people. Councilman Jose Huizar says around 2,000 people sleep on the streets of Skid Row.
