Nor'easter Snarls Air Travel Across The Country, Shuts Down D.C.

A massive Nor'easter, named Winter Storm Riley, is creating a mess for nearly 80 million people in the Northeast and Midatlantic. The storm has resulted in the cancelation of over 2,400 flights in airports across the country according to USA Today. The high winds, which could top 80 miles-per-hour in some places, are expected to last through Saturday and airlines are already canceling flights for the weekend.

The high winds are resulting in downed power lines and trees, knocking out power for over 900,000 people across the region.

Federal government offices and all schools in nation's capital were closed due to the storm.

Coastal areas near Boston are seeing "moderate flooding" and parts of upstate New York have already seen two feet of snow since the storm started Thursday night.

The slow-moving storm is expected to linger until Saturday and is forecast to dump an additional six inches of rain in some areas.
