WEST COVINA, Calif. (AP) — A mistrial was declared in the case of a California woman charged with fatally running over her boyfriend with a car.
The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports a Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office spokeswoman says the trial for Sharon Hood of La Puente ended Tuesday in a hung jury.
The jurors' choices were murder or vehicular manslaughter.
Hood's boyfriend, Randolph John Morales of Fontana, died in the parking lot of a motel in 2016.
Prosecutors say Morales rented a room at the motel, and hood left the room after the couple got into an argument.
Prosecutors say Morales followed Hood to her car where they continued to argue. Hood then allegedly ran over her boyfriend.
Hood is scheduled to return to Pomona Superior Court Feb. 28 for a hearing.
