Photos: Person of Interest in Koreatown Woman's Beating

Police are asking for the public's help to find a person of interest in the case of a horrific attack on an elderly woman in Koreatown.

Eighty-six year old Mi Rehm Song was walking down the street when someone randomly hit her in the face, causing her to hit her head as she fell on the sidewalk.

Captain David Kowalski says she was left with major bruising to her face and head.

"Somebody saw this crime...it happened in the middle of the day in one of the busiest parts of Los Angeles. Please have the courage to help us identify the person responsible for this."

Kowalski says the person of interest is described as a male hispanic, 5'5 and about 35 years old and didn't appear to be homeless.

"He was clearly running from that area. It elevates the probability that he was probably involved or at least saw it. Something certainly scared him at that point to run from the scene."

Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at (213) 382-9393 or (877) LAPD-247 or anonymous information can be given to Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
