Eleven year old, Anthony Perez, will be known as the young hero who died saving a friend. The two boys were walking onto a frozen pond in Queens, New York, when Anthony's friend fell through.
Perez was successful in pulling his friend out, but misfortune led to him falling through the broken ice.
Firefighters responded to the emergency call within four minutes. Perez was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
