With Valentine's Day around the corner many people are feeling the pinch of being single. But, there's good news! If you're currently without a partner and you live in California, fret not - you're actually in the best possible place you can be. According to a new study from WalletHub, California ranks as the #1 state for singles looking for love.
Why all that California love? According to WalletHub, California ranked very high when it came to three key advantages for singles:
- Dating economics - How much it costs to go out on a date.
- Dating opportunities - The number of single adults.
- Romance and fun - How many opportunities there are for dates, including restaurants per capita, number of attractions, nature parks, and movie theaters.
Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 representing the most favorable conditions for adult singles who are actively dating.
The Golden State ranked #1 for "Dating opportunities" and #2 in the 'Romance and fun' rank. Because of California's high cost of living, we did not rank so well when it came to the 'Dating economics' category, but hey, two out of three isn't bad.
Los Angeles ranked as the #3 best city in the nation for singles, with San Francisco coming in at #1.
So if you're living in California and feel like there's no hope, turn that frown upside down. The math is on your side. Sign up for a class, or a Meet Up group, or a co-ed softball league and love is bound to find you!
