An uncle of the 13 children allegedly shackled to furniture and tortured by their own parents in a Perris, California home, says he wants to take the children in and adopt them according to a report from Inside Edition.
Dr. Randy Turpin, the president of Valor Christian College in Ohio, is the brother of David Allen Turpin, the father of the 13 siblings who, along with his wife, Louise, is currently being held on multiple counts of torture and child abuse.
Dr. Turpin is currently on leave from the school to handle "revelations about estranged family members," according to a statement from the college. Officials say they want to talk to the megachurch preacher about whether he knew about past abuses in the home.
Authorities have already begun the process of moving the siblings into several different foster homes. The seven adult children will be moving into an assisted living facility, while the six minor children will be split up into two different foster homes.
The Perris 'House of Horrors' was discovered earlier this month after one of the children, a 17-year-old girl, managed to escape through a bedroom window and call 911 on a deactivated cell phone. Twelve of the siblings were severely malnourished, and showed signs of cognitive impairment because of the abuse and torture inflicted upon them.
Both parents, David and Louise Turpin, have pleaded 'Not Guilty' to the charges against them.
