The major rain storm pounding Southern California today may cause mudslides filled with toxic waste. The storm started dropping rain in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties earlier today in the area scorched by the Thomas Fire, which is the largest in the state's history.
Experts say debris from burned out homes and cars can combine, creating a muddy soup of chemicals, plastics and ash that may be harmful to people and the wildlife. Right now hundreds of people have been evacuated in case the barren hillsides let loose sending tons of debris into neighborhoods.
