Some folks in Southern California are leaving their homes due to the major storm headed their way. Most of the people under mandatory evacuation orders in Santa Barbara County live in the area recently scorched by the massive Thomas Fire.
Officials say flash floods, mud and debris flows can happen with little or no warning and this is a way to keep people safe. The storm is expected to hit the area today but the sun may break out this afternoon before the clouds really open up and dump on the area tonight. Folks have set up sandbags to try and protect their homes before leaving.
